Over two weeks ago, I went through a very intensive and excruciating biopsy surgery on my mouth.
Yesterday, was a big day in my life...after removing the stitches from my gums, my oral surgeon gave me the green light - the 17 day quarantine from my trumpet came to an end.
Finally unzipping the case, I felt nervous - like I was holding a baby for the first time.
To hear the very first notes out of my horn, check out Health Update #5/Video 1. I’m actually surprised that I even got that out...as I said before, this is the longest I’ve gone without picking up my horn since I was six. At first, I didn’t want to post that; it’s unedited, no filter and really raw. But, it’s very honest, and it’s where I’m at in my life right now.
There’s an uncertain road ahead, and even in light of COVID-19, my implant surgery is still scheduled for the end of summer. Thank you for following my journey, and for all of your love and support. Keep jazz alive!
